AVP/MEMBER BUSINESS LOAN OFFICER - MAJOR CREDIT UNION IN CENTRAL NEW JERSEY

TITLE:
AVP/Member Business Loan Officer







ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for selling business loan services to prospective clients through personal contacts and branch referrals.
Responsible for the initial relationship with prospects including business development, sales calls and obtaining applications.
Facilitates processing and closing of loan between underwriter and borrower.
Works closely with the public access branch managers to develop loan sources.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with the Implementation of the approved business plan and budget in assigned areas of responsibility.
Recommend Lending products, pricing, policies and procedures to best meet members' needs.
Ensure that all Business lending functions of the Credit Union are in compliance with Sec. 723 of the National Credit Union Administration regulations.
Ensure that Lending Management is kept informed of the conditions and operations of the Business lending area of the Credit Union.
Participate in a wide variety of Credit Union projects, including Learning Academy seminars and other educational speaking events.
Ensure that the Sr. Vice President - Lending is kept informed of the conditions and operations of the Business lending area of the Credit Union.
Attend meetings, conferences, seminars and training courses relating to work areas.
Participate in a wide variety of Credit Union projects.
Represent Credit Union at lending related events.
Perform other duties as assigned.


GENERAL SALES EXPECTATIONS (All Lending Associates)
Successfully demonstrate effective selling skills and behaviors.
Exhibit a thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services.
Complete the expected level of product certifications and training.
Educate and promote the use of multiple delivery channels for member
convenience.
Display question asking strategies to uncover perceived and unperceived
member needs.
Conduct service follow-up calls to deepen and expand member
relationships.
Meet minimum referral requirements per month, if applicable.
Meet minimum sales requirements per month, if applicable.
Cross sell Credit Union services.
Proactively offer additional products and services to complement
members immediate product need.
Actively solicit members to refer co-workers, friends and family to the
Credit Union.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Requires professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for communicating with members, vendors, staff, and co-workers.
Basic knowledge in SBA 7(a) and SBA Express guidelines.
Basic knowledge of commercial real estate lending practices.
Requires thorough knowledge of the Credit Union's policies, procedures, programs, products and services as they relate to Business Lending.
Requires basic knowledge of small business lending practices and credit granting criteria, as well as state and federal laws regulating the lending function.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced word processing and Excel skills.

Education:
Requires four years of college or a Bachelor's Degree; or comparable combination of education and related business experience.


Experience:
Requires at least two years of related work experience in the lending function of a financial institution.


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
